Biography
Steve Delaney has dedicated his entire legal career to helping Nebraskans. Steve graduated from Creighton University School of Law and was admitted to the Nebraska State Bar Association in 1988. Steve is a partner and a valued member of Reagan, Melton & Delaney, L.L.P. and offers his expertise in wide variety of practice areas. Steve is also recognized in Nebraska as a top 100 trial lawyer, an honor presented to him by the American Trial Lawyers Associations every year since 2007. Steve has also received a Martindale Hubbell AV preeminent rating each year since 2003.

Steve has tried over 45 jury trials, both civil and criminal, as well as trying over 400 bench trials.  Steve has prepared and submitted numerous appellate briefs and successfully argued many cases to the Nebraska Supreme Court and Nebraska Court of Appeals. Several of Steve’s cases have been cited by the Court in subsequent decisions, including one which has been cited positively 27 times in both Nebraska and the Kansas Court of Appeals.

Steve has handled many different aspects of litigation cases to include: criminal litigation, family law litigation, and civil litigation. He has tried, to verdict, cases involving capital murder, breach of contract, construction defect litigation, insurance litigation, traumatic brain injury, and motor vehicle accidents.

Throughout Steve’s career, he has represented clients with the utmost respect and professionalism in catering each case to the needs of the client, whether that client is an individual or a corporation. Steve’s vast trial experience and support staff have made him into a successful trial attorney, well respected by clients, judges, and peers.

In addition, Steve takes great pride in representing police officers and other members of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) throughout the State of Nebraska. He is one of the approved FOP attorneys in the State and has worked diligently to protect the rights of those who protect us.

In addition to Steve’s dedication to clients in Nebraska, he is a scholarly professional as well.  Steve has authored, co-authored, and has presented many articles for a wide array of events, associations, and organizations.
